ODs at home in The Mitre

Mitre alive with activity
Mitre alive with activity
It has been lovely to experience how the vision of The Mitre as a home for ODs has been realised. ODs from all generations continuously visit and comment on the beautiful facility. ODs are reminded that the facilities are available for hire by ODs. Further details can be found on the OD website (www.odunion.com), and click on the 'Venue Hire' link under 'About'.
The past two weeks has been particularly busy, and this picture from Thursday 24 January summarises the range of ODs visiting and sharing their endeavours:
From left to right:
Dr Paul Murray (Diocesan College Historian & Archivist): After 28 years on the academic staff of The College, Dr Murray now occupies an office in the school archives. His in-depth knowledge about the heritage of Bishops, the daily operations, and the significant soul of the school adds tremendous value to a visit at The Mitre.
Robbie Fleck (1993O): Current head coach of the Stormers Super Rugby team.
Lukhanyo Mntonintshi (2017G): Studying law, playing rugby for OD sides, and receiving mentoring through the ODU structures.
Gert Smal: Director of Rugby at Western Province. Past speaker at Bishops societies.
John Dobson (1985K): Head coach of Western Province Currie Cup side
Arthur Mngxekeza (1997F): OD Committee Member
Unathi Diniso (1999W): OD Committee Member
Chris McInroy (1971G): Recently relocated from the UK to Cape Town. Project Manager of Unogwaja Challenge, and legendary Director of Hockey at Exeter University.
Arthur, Unathi, and Chris is currently assisting and supporting outreach at Bishops with their insightful experience.
