OD David Blackburn visits The Mitre with his family and friend.

David Blackburn (Birt House, 2009), an avid squash player who represented Bishops in the First IV in 2009, came to see his school.

David Blackburn brought his Father and Mother who live in Cape Town, and his friend  Rebekah Cormack to Bishops to show them his school.  David was keen to see the sports fields where he played, including the squash courts, and his house which was Birt House.  Paul remembers David from the History Room, David recalls that he sometimes had to leave early for a squash match without any objection from the teacher. We visited other areas in the school such as the Chapel and David enjoyed relating stories from his time at school.  Building currently in progress meant that parts of the school were not accessible, but David looks forward to visiting again to come and see the new developments.  One of the highlights for David was retracing his footsteps on the squash court where he played many a match.  He and Paul enjoyed a session of ghosting, aptly captured on video by Gerlald, his father.

ODs wanting to visit their school are welcome to contact Paul Murray at 0835159526.
