On Wednesday 20 November 2024 ODs, their partners and guests attended a talk at The Mitre presented by OD Dr Sydney Cullis, on the topic "A hypothetical trip by tram and U-Bahn around Vienna based on several previous visits and using the life of Empress Elizabeth, fondly known as Sisi, as a thread on which to hang the story. She was the wife of the last Emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, who hated life in the Imperial Court but was beloved by her subjects, especially the Hungarians."
Approximately 50 persosn attended.
Tea was served from 10.30am and the talk was from 11.00am – 12pm, including Q & A.
There is no charge for these events. ODs are welcome to bring friend/friends.
These talks (colloquia) are held twice a term at The Mitre, specifically for ODs as part of the programme offered by the Old Diocesans Ambassador (ODA), Dr Paul Murray (Staff 1991 - ).
