The Old Diocesans Ambassador and school historian Dr Paul Murray hosted a cocktail party at The Mitre on Friday 22 November 2024. The purpose was for past parents, staff, friends and ODs to come to view the 175 Exhibition Centre, attend a music recital and socialise.  The event took the form of a cocktail party.

Approximately 50 guests attended.

The venue was the Museum and the Mitre combined (music in the Museum, the cocktain party in The Mitre Lounge).

Guests attending included the Principal Tony, and Rose Reeler, the Deputy Head Michelle, and Peter van Schalkwyk and the Business Manager Sean, and Sandri King.

Several ODs and their partners also attended.

Two ODs, Len Worthington-Smith (1985G) and Patrick McDonald (1984B), entertained the audience to a splendid concert of music, set for the French Horn and Piano.

The 175 Exhibition Centre houses the exhibits covering a selection of Bishops' history from 1849, to its 175th year, designed especially to commemorate this milestone.

Guests were not only entertained to the fine music, but had the opportunity of viewing the exhibition.

Refreshments and comestibles were served, enabling guests to connect and engage after the concert.

The beautiful summer's evening at The Mitre was a joy for those attending with sweeping views across the fields to the school.

More of these events are planned for 2025.

ODs wishing to attend can contact the ODU at [email protected]
