The Bishops OD community is making a splash on the international sports scene! Four ODs have been chosen to represent South Africa in the 2025 Water Polo World Cup Men’s Division 2 tournament. The prestigious event, hosted in Istanbul, Turkey, from 18 to 21 December, 2024, will see South Africa face tough competition from Iran and Ukraine in Group A.
This is not just a monumental achievement for Bishops water polo, it also solidifies Bishop's reputation as a breeding ground for top notch sportsmen across across diverse sports.
Leading this charge is recent matriculant Jordan de Sousa (2024G), a formidable presence in the water polo arena. Known for his incredible reflexes and tactical brilliance as a goalkeeper, Jordan’s selection for the national squad caps off an outstanding school career. His performance in the pool has earned admiration far and wide, and now he’s set to make waves on the global stage.
Band of brothers
Adding to the celebration is the incredible story of the Sneddon brothers—Brett (2016M), Ryan (2019M), and Dean (2022M). All three siblings have earned spots on the Proteas squad, an achievement that will go down as one of the most unique moments in Bishops’ sporting history. Their shared success underscores the power of talent, determination, and family pride, and it’s a moment to treasure.
We extends our support to Jordan and the Sneddon brothers as they prepare to don the green and gold. We’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines, proud to see you making your mark. Good luck and go make South Africa proud!
