OD Rugby Club |
On Saturday 23 March 2024, the Old Andreans and Old Diocesans played their normal brand of attractive running rugby as a curtain-raiser to the main match between the schools' first sides.
This is the second of the two matches for the ODs at the 175 Rugby/Hockey Festival to commemorate Bishops' 175th year. The first one was previously been reported on, on the ODU Website.
The two schools have close links, when Bishop Robert Gray created the separate Sees of Natal and Grahamstown/Makhanda in 1853. St Andrew's College was founded in 1855 by Bishop John Armstrong.
The two schools have been in close association ever since.
This day was no exception!
There was a wonderful spirit on the field and off the field as spectators were treated to the brand of running rugby that we know come from these two schools.
The game was played in glorious weather, typical of an autumn day in Cape Town.
