Ross Vintcent (2020F), a rising star in the world of rugby, recently made headlines with his debut for Italy in the Six Nations tournament against Ireland. The image of Ross celebrating his achievement alongside his father, Craig Vintcent (1986S), resonated with pride and accomplishment. However, Ross's journey to this momentous occasion required dedication, hard work, and a passion for the sport.

Ross is a product of great Bishops coaching at a young age.  After leaving Bishops he was recruited into the Italian Rugby Academy, thanks to his mother's Italian roots. This marked the beginning of a remarkable journey for Ross, one that would see him don the blue jersey of Italy.

Ross's progression through the ranks of Italian rugby has been steady and impressive. He represented Italy U20 in the Six Nations and eventually earned the captaincy during the summer series in 2022. Although South Africa, captained by Ross' Founders teammate Sacha Mngomezulu (2020F), ended up winning the tournament, his leadership and on-field prowess was evident for all to see.

In 2023, Ross received another accolade as he was selected for Italy A, further solidifying his position as a promising talent in the rugby world. His hard work paid off when he made his senior debut for Italy in the Six Nations, facing off against the defending champions, Ireland, in a thrilling encounter.

Currently Ross is pursuing a degree in finance at Exeter University, where he continues to hone his rugby skills.  He  plays for the Exeter Chiefs in both the Premiership and the Champions Cup. His commitment to balancing academics and athletics is a testament to his discipline and ambition.

The journey from Bishops to the Six Nations stage has been a testament to Ross's resilience and determination. As Ross continues to make strides in his career, one thing is certain: he is a name to watch out for in the world of rugby.
