Several of the Pre-Prep as well as College classes have visited the new Exhibition Centre which makes up the new Museum 175 Project.
At the entrance the purpose of the new exhibition space is explained as follows - the exhibit is made up of panels with a narrative of the school from 1849 to the present, as well as tacticle exhibits for learners, not just to look at, but to touch as well.
"Through almost two centuries of change and growth, Bishops has remained a leader in high-quality, well-rounded education in Cape Town. While the school’s traditions and sense of purpose have been a constant throughout its existence, Bishops has also risen to the demands of a changing world and society. Our Old Boys have made their mark in all facets of society, as the school’s ethos and practices continue to transform and grow. The exhibition explores the traditions, events, people, and challenges that have shaped the school and its community, from its founding into the present. Our focus is especially on the last 25 years since the last major anniversary celebrations at Bishops in 1999."
The Museum is open from 0800 - 1700 Mondays to Fridays during school terms.
