Reunions |
Luc du Plessis (2003B) organised the event for his colleagues from the Class of 2003 to meet at Bishops and Cape Town for the weekend of 25 - 27 August 2023.
Whilst there were several events and venues for the Reunion in and around Cape Town, on Saturday evening a function was held at The Mitre, to which the ODA Paul Murray was invited. The evening before was the 1993 Leavers, also at The Mitre (photograph and article to appear).
It was great seeing members of the Class of 2003 again, especially hearing what they had done since leaving school, and to see how they were enjoying connecting and engaging & sharing their memories of their time at school.
There were several fund-raising activities conducted over the weekend by the Leavers, such as a raffle, and on Saturday evening, further events were held, for giving back.
Earlier the day, the ODA conducted a tour of the school, visiting the places that the Leavers remember, the sports fields/facilities, the chapels, and the grounds generally. Not everyone attending the Reunion was present for the tour, but there were enough to make it a worthwhile experience for all.
The Saturday they chose could not have produced a greater vibe, with the BishBosch Derby, when no less than 7000 spectators came to watch the rugby. The evening before an OD XI side played against a Rondebosch Old Boys XI at Woodlands, narrowly losing 4 - 5, in an exciting game.
The ODU at The Mitre thanks the Leavers of 2003 for coming back to their school and for the opportunity to join them and in this way, continue to connect and engage.
