His daughter Cassie writes: "Dad was very proud of being a Bishops boy and thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandson Jason Scott’s school career from grade R to matric 2007.  Jason was a 4th generation Bishops scholar. Both Buddy’s father and grandfather attended Bishops."

Buddy was the most generous and loving man. Charles, known as Buddy, was a true family man and was married to Daphne, his beloved wife, for 65 years. They had 4 children, 12 grandchildren (Jason Scott 2007) and 11 great grandchildren. He was a man of deep Christian faith and taught us all great values and principals and has left us with many kind and treasured life lessons. He had a sharp mind and a fun loving sense of humor and told the most fabulously entertaining stories including many of his years at Bishops. Both Buddy and Daphne lost their battle with Covid within 3 days of each other and they have departed hand in hand on to their next adventure. They are sorely missed by their family and many friends. May they rest in eternal peace.
