Peter passed away in ICU on 6 March 2020.

Peter's long time friend, Patrick Henderson (1958G) said this, "I knew Peter from his school days, when he was a border at Bishop's, leaving in 1958. Apart from being a good farmer – growing fruit and latterly pecan nut trees, he was an expert chess player and taught the game to many disadvantaged children. Having retired to Bonnyvale a few years ago with his wife Petra, they joined the Roberson Literary Society. He also helped to establish the Langeberg Branch of the OD Union with me. When initially retired to Somerset West, he was a valued member of the Cape Town Toastmasters Club."
