The ODU is saddened to share the news of the passing of John Fairweather (1948G), who died peacefully in his sleep on 17 January.

John was a contemporary of Raymond Ackerman (1948S) and a proud OD who remained deeply connected to Bishops throughout his life. He took great interest in the school’s development and contributed significantly to the OD community.

Nicky Bicket (1973F), former UK Branch Secretary, recalls John as one of the first "senior" ODs he met upon assuming his role in 2014. John, as a member of the RAF Club in Piccadilly, generously sponsored the first two OD Dinners hosted there in 2014 and 2015.

Nicky fondly remembers visiting John often, enjoying numerous lunches together at the Highlander pub near John’s retirement village in Hitchin.

John’s son, Graham, shared,

"Dad never lost his pride in Bishops and was interested in the school’s development for virtually all of his adult life. Thank you for all that you did for Dad."

John will be missed.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
