Passing of friends

Elspeth Campbell sent us the news of the sad passing of David Nicholson (1965S).  We subsequently contacted David's daughter Georgia who sent us the following write-up:

David Stuart Nicholson of Stellenbosch passed away on the 30th of December 2023 on the Gold Coast, Australia. David is survived by his wife Renny and his three children Oscar, Georgia and Quinton, and six grandchildren.

David had a varied career as a helicopter pilot for the South African airforce and then privately in Iran for Schreiner Airways until the late 70s when he settled in Australia and joined Renny in their successful fashion business until retirement.

David had fond memories of boarding at Bishops and told stories of misbehaving and trying to skip cricket practice, which he found terribly boring!

David was friends with everyone, a brilliant conversationalist an avid reader and the life of the party. He will be dearly missed as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Our sincerest condolences go to Georgia and the extended family.
