We were saddened to hear of the passing of Deryck Rowe-Roberts (1986F) who had visited us only a few weeks ago.  He wanted a last tour of the House he loved and where he spent his teenage years.  Anthony Sedgwick, who joined him and a few friends for a tour, had this to say:

It was a special and emotional day for us all – I can’t believe it was less than 3 weeks ago and Deryck is no longer with us.  What a lovely pic of us all in the Founders dining room.  I will treasure it.

We received the following write up from Deryck's daughter, Jade, who asked us to publish it on behalf of the family:

Deryck Stefan Rowe-Roberts sadly passed away in Cape Town on 9 May 2022 at the age of 53. Deryck was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour on 16 February 2022. He fought a courageous battle with cancer and never lost his sense of humour during this difficult time. Deryck attended Bishops from 1977 until he matriculated in 1986. He loved his years at Bishops and it was with much pride that he got to spend more time there when his beloved son Justin (2010 - 2014) attended Bishops. Deryck was much loved by all who came into contact with him. He was a larger than life character and his presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Deryck is survived by his wife, Tania, his son, Justin, his daughter, Jade, his mother, Anna, his brothers, Adam and Gareth and his sisters Vicky and  Louise.

With much love,
Jade, Tania & Justin

RIP Deryck, he was a great person to know, a real character and lovely human being.
