Michael (Mike) Mayne, matric 1961, died unexpectedly but peacefully in Cape Town on Wednesday 22 September 2021.

Michael (Mike) Mayne, matric 1961, died unexpectedly but peacefully in Cape Town on Wednesday 22 September 2021. After matric he served in the army and then trained in sales and worked for the petroleum company Mobil now Engen. He married Patricia (Paddy) Anderssen on 16 January 1966. They had four children, three sons and a daughter. Mike was a born entrepreneur and leader and founded Sannitree Sales International in 1981 remaining director of the company until his recent death. He was charismatic, energetic and had a tremendous zest for life. They moved from Newlands to their much-loved home in St James overlooking False Bay when the children were still at school. Mike and Paddy loved spending time with their family, seven grandchildren and friends, riding their bikes, travelling and relaxing at their second home on the Breede River. Mike was an avid gardener. His wife Paddy sadly died in 2013. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Sean and Kim, Anton and Janette, Greg and Liesel and Michele and her husband Sean and his sister Angela Andrew.
