David Aldred (1978O) 1961 - 2021

David Aldred passed away on Friday 6th August 2021.

David Aldred passed away on Friday 6th August after contracting Covid at the end of June just days before he received his first vaccination.

After initially boarding at White House, David moved across to Ogilvie House and matriculated as part of the class of 78. He was affectionately known as Buzz at school, a nickname that was coined by Paul Dobson with reference to the astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

David dedicated his life to educating the next generation and was Head of Maths at Rhodes High School when he died. The tributes that flowed in from pupils, parents and fellow colleagues at the school bear testament to the wonderful caring person and dedicated and passionate teacher that he was.

David was one of the most gentle and kind hearted persons I have known and was a true friend for nearly 45 years.

Regards,

Charles Schelpe (1978O)

We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family and close friends during this time.
