We all know that Branches and Year Groups and Interest Groups are different.  However, on the current OD Connect platform they are considered 'clubs'.  This is not visible and is only a category name.

Here are examples of those groups:

• Branches
• OD Sports Clubs (examples include sports clubs like the OD Rowing, Cricket, Hockey, Water Polo, Golf, Rugby Clubs)
• OD Interest groups (Cannabis society, Piscatorial, etc.)
• Year Groups.

This clarification is important for our Branch Secretaries and Interest Group and Year Group representatives who may feel surprised when they click onto their Branch/Interest Group/Year Group page on the OD Connect portal and they see the following setting.

Most year groups and branches have a number of representatives that help with the organising of activities and year group events.  

These representatives or secretaries often want to communicate directly with their members and so they have some additional permissions to do so through the website portal. 

To help representatives and branch secretaries to post news, notify group members of an event, comment on posts, send group emails, upload pictures and engage with the group they are taking care of, the OD Connect Portal has introduced the Club Control feature. This feature is not available to everyone, only the Branch Secretaries and class and group representatives will have the Club Control icon on their screen when the go to the branch, class or group pages.
