We are excited to be able to announce the winners of the BCW Photograph Competition.

Front row left to right: Matthew Owen (runner up), Zeno Benolich (Gray), Grant Weich (Birt ), James Wilkin (Kidd)
Local Artist Wendy Lee selected the top three photos taken on Founders Day as part of Bishops Community Week. When chosing the pictures she looked primarily at those that captured the excitement and energy of the events of Founders Day. The winners who each will receive a cash voucher, are as follows:
1st Place Dragon Ride - Grant Weich (Grade 9, Birt House)
A great example of an action shot that fully captures the sheer delight and enjoyment and thrill of the ride through motion-blur and expression. One is immediately struck by the backdrop of lights and vibrant colours which frame the subject well. The cheeky expression captured by the photographer perfectly portrays the emotion at that instant in time.
2nd Place The Tug of War Tussle - James Wilkin (Grade 9, Kidd House)
Muscles flexed, teeth gritted...this photographer has also captured the strain of working against movement. The central subject with focussed supporters and curious spectators all in the moment really lets you feel what it was like to be right there. The main character forms the focal point as he displays gritty determinatin and braced energy.
3rd Place Water polo Warriors - Zeno Benolich (Grade 9, Gray House)
Great movement through the spray and splash of the water with vibrant teracotta colours in this photo, marked by determined expressions across all the different ages of the subjects in the water. This perfectly represents the old boys sparring with the new for domination. All facial expressions caught nicely to reflect emotion and drive.
Well done to our budding photographers of the future.
