OD Administrator, Nicole Du Rand reports: "Last week I had the incredible opportunity of visiting London and attending the UK OD Dinner. Having never been to the UK, this was a trip of a lifetime and I wish to thank the OD Union for allowing me to do so.
The Carlton Club in St James set the scene for our Friday evening dinner. After the (much needed) welcome drinks in the Morning Room, we migrated to the main banquet hall where Anthony Record (1956S) welcomed us on behalf of the ODU Patron, Raymond Ackerman.
The guest speaker for the evening, Zandy Bicket (1973F), introduced by his twin, Nicky, kept us enthralled with his fascinating life story. From following love to the USA, to teaching Afrikaans to the C.I.A. to becoming a judge in the Court of Common Pleas. These were a few of the stories he touched on and the common theme was that for everything he was grateful for, he had Bishops to thank and reminded the audience of the importance of giving back to the School that has given to them so that others may benefit as well.

I'd like to thank Nicky Bicket for not only putting together a stellar evening, but for also being my London guide and travel agent throughout my stay.
I'd also like to thank my wonderful host, Charles McGregor (1969F) for putting up with his former housemaster's granddaughter in his beautiful home for a few days.
It was really lovely to meet with some familiar faces during my stay, and to put some new faces to all the names on our database! From a guided tour of the British History Museum with David Jordan (1962W), dinner with Charles McGregor (1969F) and the Bicket twins, supper with Lynn and Julia Brown [Niall's (1973F) wife and daughter who I was at school with], interrupting a 1973 reunion pub lunch with Niall, Nicky and Zandy, and of course, a three course dinner with 96 UK ODs, it's safe to say no time was wasted during these four days!
