If you weren't at The Mitre for our first event of the second term last night, you certainly missed out! The evening focussed on the power of purpose in creating a globally relevant company.
The evening kicked off with none other than OD and Heavy Chef founder, Fred Roed, who spoke about his own venture. Fred recently launched the Heavy Chef Foundation, aimed at providing funding for high potential emerging entrepreneurs, and is the co-founder and former CEO of digital transformation agency World Wide Creative. Fred's overarching message for the evening - always follow your heart and come back to your passion, whatever that may be certainly resonated with the crowd who kept the speakers in a Q&A long after the event was due to end.
Joining Fred on stage was Mike Schalit who has been voted the most influential person in South African advertising as well as the country’s top Creative Director for eleven consecutive years.
Last but certainly not least, global speaker, Jos Dirkx, an award-winning media and communications advisor, international public speaker, creative strategist and world-traveller. Jos kept the audience captivated with her theatrical background, she explained how her upbringing through several impoverished countries had led her onto the path of entrepreneurship and social sustainability.
Thank you to the sponsors for the night,
Xero, Yoco, PayFast, Whipping The Cat, Bolt, Backsberg, Sir Fruit, Vida, Joe & Co
