A startup, co-founded by Andrzej Ogonowski (2008K) called Growsari has just raised a new round of funding. The company digitizes mom and pop stores in the Philippines (the equivalent of Spaza shops in South Africa). Andrzej has been based in Manila and working on the company for the past 5 years and has raised 30m USD / 420m ZAR to date. Investors include Tencent (the makers of WeChat) and IFC (part of the World Bank Group)
Andrzej says: "I'm really thankful for the role Bishops played in getting me to this point. The school exposed me at a young age to using technology, other cultures (things like exchange), digital design (which I use now in designing digital products), which have all been key in the journey so far.
I would love to connect with any ODs starting their own ventures and want advice"
