OD Union Mauritius AGM

On The 30th of March 2018, the Mauritius chapter of the OD Union held their AGM for 2018.

It was held at the Beachhouse restaurant and attended by (in order from left to right from the picture attached), Daniel Romburgh (Birt 1999), Thomas Van Poucke (Ogilvie 1999), Michael Robb (Gray 1999), David Axten (School 1985).
Apologies were sent by Shaun Burrow (Founders 1997), Richard Thurburn (White 1958), Dominic Ferszt (White 1984), Johan Van Zyl (Gray 1999).

A few formalities were taken care of up front including the retention of Thomas Van Poucke as Chairman and Secretary. Daniel Romburgh was elected Treasurer.
It was acknowledged that there wasn’t much formal activity from the Mauritius OD Union in 2017 and we all thought we could do a bit more, as such a number of activities were suggested and committed to.
We have decided to meet formally on Founders Day every year for a braai. We will  also be getting together to watch the televised Bishops vs Rondebosch rugby match ever year.
We will have one final get together towards the end of the year to close the year out.
It was also decided that we would play a round of golf together once a year and try get a few other alumni groups to join and make a day of it.
It must be noted that any OD that finds themselves on the island during any of these events is more than welcome to join us.

We are exploring creating some OD Flip Flops as the ties and blazers aren’t really appropriate attire for our climate.
