Class of 1995

Several members of the Class of 1995 met over the Bok weekend in Cape Town (6th and 7th September 2024).

The weather was beautiful, the vibe incredible.

Some had come from far such as James Carolin who lives in Sydney.

From LtR - Tim Richman (1995B), Jonathan Burnett (1995B), Roberto Pharo (1995K), Michael Dixon (1995F), Robert Beighton (1995G), Rob Ambler-Smith, (1995B), Edrich Eachus (1995K), Greg Boyes (1995F), Ed Durrant (1995B), James Edwards (1995S), James Carolin (1995B), Richard Kilpin (1995O), Johan van Zyl (1995G) and Alistair Wilson (1995S).

Apart from these ODs gathering and attending the match together, there were further Bishops connections.

They met at Constantia Glen the wine farm of Gus Allen (1982F).

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (2020F) was a member of the Springbok team that played in the SA v NZ match in Cape Town on Saturday 07 September.

Matthew Pearce (1987G) has reached his 150th Test behind the mic - a legendary commentator, a major milestone!

The photograph above taken in 2019 is of Sacha receiving the Distinction Tie from the fourteenth Principal, Mr Guy Pearson afrter he was selected to the South Africa U18 Sevens training squad. Sacha participated in an international U18 tournament held in Windhoek playing against Namibia Barbarians, Namibia, Germany, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The SA team won all their fixtures.  More recently he has been a regular memeber of the 2024 Springboks.

Also present at the match on Saturday and pleased to catch up afterwards was Dr WP van Zyl, a former Head of School (1997K) and Hilton Eachus (1997K). The two have remained in contact since school.  With them is the ODA Dr Paul Murray who remembers them from school.  They reminisced somewhat, the Colts Rugby side, the Overseas Cultural Tour and a lot more.

Such a pleasure, ODs connecting and engaging.
