Archives & History |
OD Andrew Warren recently visited the Museum and took away some slides to change to photographs, for archiving in the school's Archives. Above is a visual which probably dates from the 1980s. The photograph depicts the way teaching was then, commonly referred to as 'chalk and talk' and 'the sage on the stage'. Today this method has given way to innovation through laptop teaching, and students constructing knowledge. Should readers be able to tell us more about the above photograph, it will be greatly appreciated. You can write to the school archivist Paul Murray at [email protected]
Richard Harvey (Ogilvie House:1979), kindly wrote in as a resssult of Paul Murray's request to put names to faces. From Left to Right in the Front Row is Peter Llewellyn; ?; ?; Mervyn Farley holding the spine section; Sean Amor ?
The second row: the only person that Richard is able to identify is Graham McLean (wearing glasses).
In the back row to the right of Graham is Ralph Koster.
Directly behind Peter L in the jesrsey is Richard Harvey who sent in the email identifying names.
Behind Richard along the wall is Bert 'Boetie' Versveld and next to him is Rento Garschagen (?).
Please let us know if you have any more names to supply.
Thank you to Richard for taking the time to write in.
Every name supplied in any archive enriches it and the history of the school, so many thanks for taking the time.
