Fallen OD and Wing Commander, George Laurence Bazett Hull DFC, RAF known by the nicknames "Happy' or 'Bok", had a dramatic and fascinating story. Piloting the De Havilland DH 98 Mosquito T MARK III Which crashed at Goadby Marwood, Leicestershire on Friday 17 May 1946.

Sadly, Dr Alan Stevens who carried out the research, wrote the Flying Hulls account and created the commemoration building display posters alongside Catherine, died on Thursday 10th April 2019.
The day is very much about Alan’s tireless pursuit and determination to tell a story that honours Laurence’s life.
 
Many people have stepped forward to offer their support, and we continue to be absolutely amazed by your kindness, generosity and friendship.

  • X10 Flying Hulls booklets have been printed in advance of the day (generously financed by Dr Alan Stevens) Electronic copies can be provided via We Transfer
  • The Orbis Field (crash site) Commemoration Plate was commissioned and delivered to Hall Farm, Goadby Marwood (generously financed by Mr David Bate)
*Farm Manager Mr Charlie Iddeson is designing and creating an oak post Installation for the Commemoration Plate (a piece of work generously donated in kind)
  • Generously Donated in Kind by Mr and Mrs Harry & Vicky Westropp (Goady Hall): Brick built outbuilding (new roof/windows installed) designated as the Wing Commander G.L.B. Hull DFC Memorial Building which will feature a walk in story telling exhibit
  • X4 A0 size story telling posters, laminated & mounted on boards have been commissioned to be created (generously financed by the Field Detectives and Friends)
*Sally & Charlie (Hall Farm) are preparing the building for the installation, inclusive of all resources, time and expenditure that will be required both pre and post installation (generously donated in kind)
  • X2 Formal RAF Wreaths for both sites (Goadby Marwood & Oving), pre-planning meeting support, advice and guidance & Formal RAF Representation at both sites on the day (generously donated in kind) – Pebs Peberdy at Goadby Marwood and Ian Giles at Oving
