Jean Luger and Heather Sargeant the granddaughters of Dr Solly Satchel visited Bishops as a follow-up meeting to present items relating to their Grandfather - they donated a photograph of Dr Satchel receiving an Honorary Doctorate Degree from UCT as well as a copy of Ovid’s Metamorphoses that he edited with Classicist W.Rollo. We are very grateful to receive these donations which also included the graduation programme as well as a transcript of a speech Dr Satchel made about education on 22 June 1926 at a Teacher’s Conference.
