Commemoration of the Two-Minute SIlence

A memorable centenary celebration of the Cape Town Noon Gun has held at the Lion's Head Battery on Monday 14th May 2018.
Some ODs present included Anthony Lister (1973G), Reg Hands (1968F), Ken Hands (1970F), Jeremy Wiley (1970F), Mark Wiley (1972F), and WP van Zyl (1997K).

The event was reported in the Cape Town newspapers and Reggie Hands was quoted in the Cape Argus on Monday (front page article) and Ken Hands was quoted in the Tuesday edition of the Cape Argus.

Ods will notice that Anthony Lister is wearing a SACS tie. Anthony is currently on the staff at SACS and the tie commemorates the trumpeter who first played The Last Post commemorating the Two-Minute Silence in Cape Town. A SACS boy was present at the celebrations to honour this tradition.
