The Principal of Diocesan College has announced that Revd Monwabisi Peter will take up the position of Chaplain of Bishops with effect from 1st January 2019. Revd. Peter is currently Chaplain of St Andrews Prep School, in Grahamstown.
Revd Peter has a B.Com, BEd Hons, PGCE, PGHDE and Dip Tax from Rhodes University.  He is currently completing his MEd at Rhodes.  After a career in business, he has been involved in pastoral ministry since 2003 and spent two years at the College of Transfiguration.  He was then ordained as a priest in the Anglican Church.
While working at St Andrews Prep he has also been a non-stipendiary priest in the Diocese of Grahamstown.  His appointment as Chaplain of Bishops is strongly endorsed by Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, The Bishop of Grahamstown Ebenezer St Mark Ntlali and Bishop Garth Counsell, who is a member of the Bishops Council.
Revd Peter is married to Nokulunga and they have two young daughters in Grade 3 and 7.
Principal Guy Pearson continues:
"We look forward to welcoming Revd Peter to Bishops as our Chaplain in 2019. In the meanwhile we are grateful to Father Bob Commin who has agreed to continue as our interim Chaplain until the end of this year."
